Wild turkeys three blocks from downtown Pleasanton pretty much have the run of the place – all part of the charm and fun of living in this great town!

Those silly Pleasanton California geese!
Twice a year a flock of geese “migrate” from the Alameda County Fairgrounds to the man-made lake at Shadow Cliffs Regional State Park, and back again – a distance of about 2.8 miles (shorter as the goose flies)! They never gain much altitude, but seem to favor about 500 feet above the ground (are they observing VFR proscribed by the FAA?!) It’s a very colorful local event – one of those things that makes living in Pleasanton fun and interesting. Check it out on my YouTube channel:
